Luke 16:19-31

Head

  • Jesus tells this group of Pharisees this parable about a rich man. What are they experiencing that Jesus is addressing? (see Lk 16:14-18)
  • Work together as a group to describe the relationship between the rich man and Lazarus. 
  • Why won’t the brothers believe even if Lazarus appears to them?

Heart

  • Belief consists of 1) declaring truth and 2) trusting it in your ways. How have you experienced the separation of these two components of belief? 
  • This parable calls out the hardness of heart of the Pharisees. How would you describe this concept to a friend? How have you experienced this? 

Hands

  • The turning point is the time to turn from our constructed reality to believe His unchanging truth surrounding us. What constructed realities do you want to begin pulling away from this week?
