• The word for “hope” appears 4 times in the Gospels (ESV) and every time it’s about something other than Jesus. What might this tell us about culture, expectations, and beliefs at the time when Jesus walked the earth? 
• In the message this week, we identified false hopes that we fall victim to and ones that desperately long to be true. Work together as a group to make a list of these false hopes.

• Which false hope(s) do you find yourself wrestling with most often?
• Read 1 Peter 1:3-9, which says hope is only found in the resurrection of Jesus. Why and how does the resurrection provide true hope for you?
• What does the following statement mean for you? When our Lord and Master Jesus Christ said, “Repent” (Mt 4:17), he willed the entire life of believers to be one of repentance.”- First Theses of  Martin Luther’s 95 Theses at Wittenberg. Why is repentance so important to your life as a Jesus follower?
