for the anointing of your presence satisfies me like nothing else.
I. INTRODUCTION
II. THE HINDRANCE OF WORSHIP
Matthew 15:8–9 8 NKJV
8 ‘These people draw near to Me with their mouth And honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. 9 And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’”
II. TWO ACTS OF WORSHIP
Hebrews 13:15-16 NKJV
15 Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. 16 But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
Revelation 4:10-11 NKJV
10 the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying: 11 “You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.”
III. HEART OF WORSHIP
Romans 12:1 NKJV
“I appeal to you, brothers, by the mercies of God, present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable, which is your spiritual service of worship.”
IV. WORSHIP THAT THE FATHER IS SEEKING
John 4:23-24 NKJV
23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
1 Corinthians 8:1 NKJV
Now concerning things offered to idols: We know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love edifies.
Matthew 6:7 NKJV
7 When you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words.
V. OBEDIENCE
Daniel 6:10 NKJV
Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.
VII. REVERENCE
Hebrews 12:28 NKJV
28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.
VIII. SERVICE
Hebrews 13:16 NKJV
But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
Matthew 4:10 NKJV
10 Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ”
IX. HOLY LIVING
A. Worship happens when we point others to God. Does our living do that? Or does our living point elsewhere?
X. INWARD TRANSFORMATION
Romans 12:2 NKJV
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by renewing your mind so that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
XI. PRAISE
Psalm 100:4 NKJV
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
Hebrews 13:15 NKJV
Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.
