PART I: THE RIGHT QUESTIONS
I. INTRODUCTION
II. What is Purpose?
Is a abiding intention to achieve long term goal, make a positive effect in the world
III. THE DESIRE TO SEARCH FOR SIGNIFICANCE OR PURPOSE?
Significance- a role
A. Reflect On Scripture That Is Important to You
Joshua 1:8-10
8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Focus
Proverbs 4:45
Philippians 3:13-14

Jeremiah 29:11
Psalm 138:8
Direction
Psalm 37:23-24 steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord)
B. Reflect On Scripture About God’s Purposes
Everything made by God was made on Purpose. When what you do points back to God, that’s when He will use this as your launching pad.
Ephesians 2:8-10 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
IV. CAN PURPOSE CHANGE?
Purpose will change with our life:
Isaiah 43:15-18
I am the Lord, your Holy One, The Creator of Israel, your King.” 16 Thus says the Lord, who makes a way in the sea and a path through the mighty waters, 17 Who brings forth the chariot and horse, The army and the power (They shall lie down together, they shall not rise; They are extinguished, they are quenched like a wick): 18 “Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. 19 Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
A. It Declares Why You Exist- why your on this earth
B. It Defines Your Life- what God thinks about you
Ephesians 4:1
I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, Walking with God is a practical skill that takes time to learn. And once you know to walk as a Christian, you have a lifetime to practice and keep in top form.
This is about our calling, our assignment. Live for Him, rule with Him
C. It Clarifies the Non-Negotiables- never change who you are fundamentally to be used by God
2 Timothy 3:10
10 But you have carefully followed my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, perseverance
2 Timothy 3:14-17
14 But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, 15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which can make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
VI. HOW DOES GOD REVEAL PURPOSE?
1. He is Intentional
A. Woman At the Well
John 4:7-14
7 A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink.” 8 For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food. 9 Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans. 10 Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.” 11 The woman said to Him, “Sir, you have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. Where then do You get that living water? 12 Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank from it himself, as well as his sons and his livestock?” 13 Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.
2. He will work on Your “Why” Before revealing your “What”
1 Corinthians 10:31
Psalm 23:3
3. By His Word
Joshua 1:6-8
