Replenishing My Soul Pt.3 Re-Orientating My Focus
Psalm 27:1-8
Reorientation- a place where we change the focus or goal or emphasis of something. Primarily with one’s own desires, needs, and interests
I. HIS REVELATION KEEPS US STABLE (Psalm 27:1)
A. Take Authority Over Discouragement
B. Remember Who God Is and Who You Are to Him
1. 1 Corinthians 12:27 27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.
2. Ephesians 1:7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace
2. Colossians 2:10 10 and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all [a]principality and power.
B. HE RESTORES OUR STRENGTH
A. God Is in Touch with Our Weaknesses
1. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
B. He Is the God of Our Second Wind
C. WE SHOULD REJOICE IN HIS SALVATION
II. THE POWER OF YOUR PERSPECTIVE (Psalm 27:2)
- Allow God to Define Your Narrative
- Hebrews 12:2 looking unto Jesus, the [a]author and [b]finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
- Always See God at Work
- Psalm 139:7-14 Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? 8 If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in [a]hell, behold, You are there. 9 If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, 10 Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me. 11 If I say, “Surely the darkness shall [b]fall on me,” Even the night shall be light about me; 12 Indeed, the darkness [c]shall not hide from You, But the night shines as the day; The darkness and the light are both alike to You. 13 For You formed my inward parts; You [d]covered me in my mother’s womb. 14 I will praise You, for [e]I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.
III. THE POWER OF YOUR PEACE (Psalm 27:3)
- Understand The Revelation of Your Preservation
- Isaiah 54:17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.
- As a servant of God, part of your benefit package from God is that, the devil and his agents shall never rejoice over your life.
B. Peace Is a Reflection of Your Maturity
1. Philippians 4:6-7 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
IV. THE POWER OF PERSISTENCE (Psalm 27:4)
- Keep your Head in the Game
- Proverbs 4:25-27 Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. 26 Give careful thought to the[a] paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. 27 Do not turn to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil.
- 1 Peter 4:7-11 7 But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. 8 And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.” 9 Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. 10 As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 11 If anyone speaks, let him speak as the [a]oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the [b]dominion forever and ever. Amen.
B. Trust God’s Track Record and Trust Him with the Results

A. My Faith Is Greater Than My Fears
B. Whatever I Go Through, He’s in It with Me
1. Isaiah 41:10 NKJV Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.
A. He Hears and He Helps
1. Psalm 62:8 Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.
B. He Is Keeping Things from Falling Apart
1. Isaiah 64:8 But now, O Lord, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You our potter; And all we are the work of Your hand.

- Isaiah 26:1-3 NKJV In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah: “We have a strong city; God will appoint salvation for walls and bulwarks. 2 Open the gates, That the righteous nation which keeps the truth may enter in. 3 You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.
- Praise Moves Heaven on Your Behalf
