DON’T DO LIFE ALONE | 09.13.20

Ecclesiastes 4:8 (NIV) There was a man all alone; he had neither son nor brother.  There was no end to his toil, yet his eyes were not content with his wealth.

WHY DO WE WALK ALONE?

1.  : “I didn’t know…”

2.  : “That’s not my personality…”

3.  : “I’m afraid…”

“Friendship is born at the moment when one person says to another, ‘What! You too? I thought I was the only one.’” – C.S. Lewis

4. : “I’ve been hurt before…”

5. : “I don’t have time…”

James 5:16 (NLT) Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.

1 Peter 4:8-11 (NIV) Above all love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.

I HAVE DECIDED

1. I need to my critical relationships.

Colossians 2:19 (NIV) …the whole body, supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow.

2. I need to my broken relationships.

Romans 12:17-18 (NIV) Do not repay evil for evil If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

“To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you.” – Lewis B. Smedes

Matthew 6:14–15 (NIV) For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Colossians 3:13 (NIV) Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

3. I need to any harmful relationships.

Proverbs 13:20 (MSG) ….hang out with fools and watch your life fall to pieces.

Proverbs 13:20 (NCV) Spend time with the wise and you will become wise, but the friends of fools will suffer.

Proverbs 27:19 (GN)  A mirror reflects a man’s face but what he is really like is shown by the kind of friends he chooses.

2 Corinthians 6:14 (NIV)  Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common?  Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?

4. I need to some life-giving relationships.

Hebrews 10:25 (NIV)  Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another–and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

“I’m going to initiate a…”

1.  Relationship with .

Psalm 92:12–13 (NIV) The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God.

2.  Relationship with a .

Acts 2:44 (LB) And all the believers met together constantly and shared everything with each other,

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10,12 (NLT) Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble.  A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back  and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.

3. Relationship with .

John 3:16 (NIV) For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Romans 10:9 (NIV) If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
