1. God’s gifts are good and perfect.

James 1:17 ESV – Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.

2. God is a God of order and clarity.

1 Corinthians 14:33 ESV – For God is not a God of confusion but of peace. As in all the churches of the saints,

1 Corinthians 14:40 ESV – But all things should be done decently and in order.

3. A life baptized in the Spirit is powerful and relevant.

If you’re apprehensive about any aspect of the Holy Spirit, what is holding you back from receiving all that He has for you?

John 20:19-22 CSB – When it was evening on that first day of the week, the disciples were gathered together with the doors locked because they feared the Jews. Jesus came, stood among them, and said to them, “Peace be with you.” Having said this, he showed them his hands and his side. So the disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, I also send you.” After saying this, he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.

Acts 1:4-5 CSB – While he was with them, he commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for the Father’s promise. “Which,” he said, “you have heard me speak about; “for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit in a few days.”

Acts 13:49-52 ESV – And the word of the Lord was spreading throughout the whole region. But the Jews incited the devout women of high standing and the leading men of the city, stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and drove them out of their district. But they shook off the dust from their feet against them and went to Iconium. And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.

Acts 7:55 ESV – But he, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.

Spirit Filled = Well

John 4:13-14 CSB – Jesus said, “Everyone who drinks from this water will get thirsty again. But whoever drinks from the water that I will give him will never get thirsty again. In fact, the water I will give him will become a well of water springing up in him for eternal life.”

Ephesians 5:18 ESV – And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit,

Luke 24:49 ESV – And behold, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.”

Ephesians 6:18 CSB – Pray at all times in the Spirit with every prayer and request, and stay alert with all perseverance and intercession for all the saints.

Spirit Baptism = River

John 7:38-39 ESV – Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.'” Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
