Gather at the Table Part 6 – Identity

Genesis 3:5 CSB – “In fact, God knows that when you eat it your eyes will be opened and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

Matthew 4:3, 6 CSB – Then the tempter approached him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.” and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down. For it is written: He will give his angels orders concerning you, and they will support you with their hands so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.”

Romans 7:18-19, 21 CSB – For I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my flesh. For the desire to do what is good is with me, but there is no ability to do it. For I do not do the good that I want to do, but I practice the evil that I do not want to do.

The table is a place to Godly identity in one another.

Individual identity is solidified by the we keep.

Genesis 1:31 CSB – God saw all that he had made, and it was very good indeed. Evening came and then morning: the sixth day.

When we recognize and live in our true identity, we bring God .

Isaiah 43:7 CSB – “everyone who bears my name and is created for my glory. I have formed them; indeed, I have made them.”
