RESPONDING TO THE VISION PART 2 – HEAR & OBEY

P. Jason Hubbard

Mark 1:9-13 CSB – In those days Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized in the Jordan by John. As soon as he came up out of the water, he saw the heavens being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well-pleased.” Immediately the Spirit drove him into the wilderness. He was in the wilderness forty days, being tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals, and the angels were serving him.

1. YOUR EARS TO GOD.

1 Kings 19:11-13 CSB – Then he said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the Lord’s presence.” At that moment, the Lord passed by. A great and mighty wind was tearing at the mountains and was shattering cliffs before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake there was a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire there was a voice, a soft whisperWhen Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave…

2. ON WHAT GOD IS SAYING.

3. WHAT GOD IS SAYING WITH TRUSTED VOICES.

4. PUT THOUGHTS TO .

Faith is believing what you’ve heard God say and trusting Him to guide you as you obey.

Matthew 7:24-27 CSB – “Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain fell, the rivers rose, and the winds blew and pounded that house. Yet it didn’t collapse, because its foundation was on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and doesn’t act on them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. The rain fell, the rivers rose, the winds blew and pounded that house, and it collapsed. It collapsed with a great crash.”

“God doesn’t ask you to do His part but he also won’t do your part.”
