“Remembering the past us for the future.”

1. REMEMBER THAT YOU WERE ONCE .

Deuteronomy 6:12 CSB – “be careful not to forget the LORD who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the place of slavery.”

Romans 6:17-18 CSB – But thank God that, although you used to be slaves of sin, you obeyed from the heart that pattern of teaching to which you were handed over, and having been set free from sin, you became enslaved to righteousness.

2. REMEMBER TO CENTER OUR WORSHIP ON .

Deuteronomy 6:13-14 CSB – “Fear the LORD your God, worship him, and take your oaths in his name. Do not follow other gods, the gods of the peoples around you,”

3. REMEMBER THE LORD’S & .

Deuteronomy 7:18-19 CSB – “do not be afraid of them. Be sure to remember what the LORD your God did to Pharaoh and all Egypt: the great trials that you saw, the signs and wonders, the strong hand and outstretched arm, by which the LORD your God brought you out. The LORD your God will do the same to all the peoples you fear.”

Psalm 105:5 – “Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced,”

Cast a demon out (Mark 1:23-27)

Sick people healed (Mark 1:29-31, Mark 1:40-42, Mark 6:12-13)

Bread & fish multiplied (Matthew 14:13-21)

Paul was bit by a snake and lived (Acts 28)

They spoke in new tongues (Acts 2 & 19)

Philip was transported (Acts 8)

Empowered to speak boldly (Acts)

Mark 16:15-18 CSB – Then he said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes; if they should drink anything deadly, it will not harm them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will get well.” 

4. REMEMBER THE LORD’S & .

Deuteronomy 8:2-4 CSB – “Remember that the LORD your God led you on the entire journey these forty years in the wilderness, so that he might humble you and test you to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands. He humbled you by letting you go hungry; then he gave you manna to eat, which you and your fathers had not known, so that you might learn that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD. Your clothing did not wear out, and your feet did not swell these forty years.”

5. REMEMBER THE LORD’S .

Deuteronomy 8:5 CSB – “Keep in mind that the LORD your God has been disciplining you just as a man disciplines his son.”

Hebrews 12:5-6 CSB – And you have forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons: My son, do not take the Lord’s discipline lightly or lose heart when you are reproved by him, for the Lord disciplines the one he loves and punishes every son he receives.

Hebrews 12:11 CSB – No discipline seems enjoyable at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

6. REMEMBER THE LORD’S & HIS .

Deuteronomy 8:11 CSB – “Be careful that you don’t forget the LORD your God by failing to keep his commands, ordinances, and statutes that I am giving you today.”

Psalm 1:1-3 CSB – How happy is the one who does not walk in the advice of the wicked or stand in the pathway with sinners or sit in the company of mockers! Instead, his delight is in the LORD’s instruction, and he meditates on it day and night. He is like a tree planted beside flowing streams that bears its fruit in its season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.

Psalm 119:105 CSB – Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light on my path.

7. REMEMBER THAT THE LORD GIVES THE ABILITY TO .

Deuteronomy 8:17-18 CSB – “You may say to yourself, ‘My power and my own ability have gained this wealth for me,’ but remember that the LORD your God gives you the power to gain wealth, in order to confirm his covenant he swore to your fathers, as it is today.”

Psalm 106:13 CSB – “Yet how quickly they forgot what he had done! They wouldn’t wait for his counsel!”
