John 10:3-4 (NIV) “The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. “God doesn’t have a speaking problem.  We have a hearing problem.”John 10:3-5 (NIV) But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.” 

1 John 4:1 (NIV) Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God,Proverbs 14:12 (NIV) There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death. 1 John 4:1 (NIV) …test the spirits to see whether they are from God,

4 TESTS FOR RECOGNIZING GOD’S VOICE

1.  Does it line up with the ?  

Hebrews 4:12 (NIV) For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. 2 Timothy 3:16–17 (NIV) All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

2. Will it make me more like ? 

2 Corinthians 10:5 (NIV) We take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.Philippians 2:5 (NCV) In your lives you must think and act like Christ Jesus. James 3:17-18 (NIV) But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. 3. Does agree?

Proverbs 12:15 (NIV) The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advice. Proverbs 19:20-21 (NIV) Listen to advice and accept discipline and at the end you will be counted among the wise…Proverbs 24:6 (NIV) Surely you need guidance to wage war, and victory is won through many advisers.4. Do I have ?

John 14:27 (NIV)  Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. 1 Corinthians 14:33 (NKJV) For God is not the author of confusion but of peace… Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV) Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 

WHAT CAN I DO?

myself to listen to God’s Word every day. my heart to hear God’s voice.

Psalm 139:23-24 (NLT) Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.Take the toward what God is speaking.

John 10:27 (NIV) My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
