Galatians 5:1-9 (NIV) It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Mark my words! I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no value to you at all. Again I declare to every man who lets himself be circumcised that he is obligated to obey the whole law. You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace… For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. You were running a good race. Who cut in on you to keep you from obeying the truth?  That kind of persuasion does not come from the one who calls you. “A little yeast works through the whole batch of dough.”

FLESH VS SPIRIT

Galatians 5:13-21 (NIV) You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other. So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery idolatry and witchcraft hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. Romans 3:23 (NLT) For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.

Romans 6:23 (NLT) The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.

John 3:16 (NIV) For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.Galatians 5:22-26 (NIV) But the fruit of the Spirit is love joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.

LIVING BY THE SPIRIT

1.   your need and God for help.

Psalm 32:3-5 (MSG) When I kept it all inside, my bones turned to powder, my words became daylong groans.  The pressure never let up; all the juices of my life dried up. Then I let it all out;  I said, “I’ll make a clean breast of my failures to God. Suddenly the pressure was gone.

2.  Stop doing life , and connect in life-giving .

Genesis 2:18 (NKJV) And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone;Hebrews 10:25 (NLT)  And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.

James 5:16-18 (MSG) Make this your common practice: Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you can live together whole and healed.

3.   God’s word and it to your life.

1 Thessalonians 2:13 (NIV)  We also thank God continually because, when you received the Word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but actually as it is, the Word of God…James 1:25 (NIV) But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it— not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.John 8:31–32 (NKJV) Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

4.  Give God to all of you.

Revelation 3:20 (NIV) Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.Acts 2:39 (NCV) Peter said to them, “Change your hearts and lives and be baptized, each one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

Acts 2:38-39 (NCV) This promise is for you, for your children, and for all who are far away. It is for everyone the Lord our God calls to himself.”

Matthew 11:28-30 (MSG) “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life.

is found in Christ.
