TODAY’S SERMON

SERMON: The Gift of Leadership

TEXT: Acts 6:1-15; 1 Corinthians 12:1-7

SPEAKER: Rev. Daryl Reid

Even the early New Testament Church faced inner conflicts that threatened to split the young Church over relational and administrative problems. The early leaders, the apostles, could have assumed responsibility for the problem area in addition to their ministry calling. But they showed wisdom and insight, recognizing the Holy Spirit gifted the Church to handle every challenge to the unity and ministry of the Church. They allowed those gifts to rise and function and the result was the spread of the gospel and the amazing growth of the Church. The Church still has amazingly gifted individuals outside the clergy who are important to the mission and growth of the Church.
