TITLE: The Resurrected Host
TEXT: Luke 24:14-32

We are told at the beginning of Jesus’ ministry that “the Son of man came eating and drinking.” So, it’s not surprising that shortly after the resurrection we find Jesus at another table. This time his guests had their minds opened and their hope restored. Here is the amazing thing – everything that Jesus gave these two guests is available for us right now! Come to the table with our resurrected Lord and find the path to a new resurrected life.

NOTES

1.  FIND A FAITH-FUELED HOPE

They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” Luke 24:32

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1

2. FIND WHERE HOPE LIVES
When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. 31 Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him… Luke 24:30-31a

And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” Luke 22:19

Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. 1 Corinthians 12:27

And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. Romans 5:5 NLT

Jesus goes after those headed in the wrong direction on Easter Sunday!
