September 22, 2024

Matthew 6:9 (NLT)
Pray like this:
Our Father in heaven,
may your name be kept holy.

How often do we rush into prayer and more important our daily life without truly recognizing the the Holy one?

What would it look like it we experienced Holy Here?

Understanding Holy…

The word holy literally means “set apart” or “separate.”

“He is utterly , entirely from and else.”

Can you feel the weight of that truth?

Isaiah is .
(Isaiah 6:1-8)

Isaiah 6:1
“In the year King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne, and the train of His robe filled the temple.”

Isaiah 6:3 (NIV)
“And they were calling to one another: ‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of His glory.’”

Isaiah 6:5
“Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.”

Do we come to God with a sense of His greatness?

Or have we become so comfortable with Him that we’ve lost our sense of wonder?

John’s Open Door
(Revelation 4:1-11)

Revelation 4:1
After this I looked, and there before me
was a door standing open in heaven.”

Revelation 4:8
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty,
who was, and is, and is to come.”

At the core of the universe is not , not , but a .

If you stood in the throne room like John, how would that change the way you live today?

John’s Weeping
(Revelation 5:1-5)

Revelation 5:1-5 (NLT)
5 Then I saw a scroll in the right hand of the one who was sitting on the throne. There was writing on the inside and the outside of the scroll, and it was sealed with seven seals. 2 And I saw a strong angel, who shouted with a loud voice: “Who is worthy to break the seals on this scroll and open it?”

3 But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll and read it.

4 Then I began to weep bitterly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll and read it. 5 But one of the twenty-four elders said to me, “Stop weeping! Look, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the heir to David’s throne, has won the victory. He is worthy to open the scroll and its seven seals.”

When we pray “hallowed be Your name,” we’re not just acknowledging God’s ; we’re also acknowledging our for a Savior.

How often do we consider the cost of approaching a holy God?

“Hallowed” Means Before Action

“God, let my life show that You are holy. Let the way I speak, think, and act who You are.”

Psalm 99:5
“Exalt the Lord our God and worship at His footstool; He is holy.”

Do our lives that we believe God is holy?
