The Right Path

Psalm 23 – The Passion Translation

Yahweh is my best friend and my shepherd.

I always have more than enough.

He offers a resting place for me in his luxurious love.

His tracks take me to an oasis of peace near the quiet brook of bliss

That’s where he restores and revives my life.

He opens before me the right path

and leads me along in his footsteps of righteousness

so that I can bring honor to his name.

He opens before me the right path

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;

in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.

Proverbs 4:18-19

The path of the righteous is like the morning sun,

shining ever brighter till the full light of day.
But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness;
they do not know what makes them stumble.

and leads me along in his footsteps of righteousness

Ephesians 2-And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience—

among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—

The primary job of the shepherd was to lead them in the right path for food and water and to protect them from predators.

I need Jesus now, not just to save me but to  me.

Through His written word.  Through His Spirit.

Psalm 119:105

Your word is a lamp for my feet,
    a light on my path.

Romans 8:14

For those who are led by the Spirit of God

are the children of God.

John 15:4-5

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches.

Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

Expect Him to direct you. Expect to bear fruit.

Accept His direction.  Accept His correction.

so that I can bring honor to his name.

John 10:27

My sheep recognize my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.
