“Forerunners”
April 16, 2025 / Pastor Kyle LumMatthew 3:1-3 (NLT) “In those days John the Baptist came to the Judean wilderness and began preaching. His message was, “Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.”
The prophet Isaiah was speaking about John when he said, “He is a voice shouting in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord’s coming! Clear the road for him!’”
- John the Baptist was the forerunner telling of Jesus’
Matthew 3:11 (NLT) “I baptize with water those who repent of their sins and turn to God. But someone is coming soon who is greater than I am—so much greater that I’m not worthy even to be his slave and carry his sandals.
He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.”
Matthew 4:12 (NLT) “When Jesus heard that John had been arrested, he left Judea and returned to Galilee.”
Matthew 4:17 (NLT) ““From then on Jesus began to preach, “Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.”
- We as Christ followers are the forerunners telling of Jesus’ RETURN.
Matthew 28:18-20 (NLT) “Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
