To Serve An Audience of One

January 22, 2025 / Pastor Kyle Lum

“Everybody wants to be called a servant, until it’s time to stack the chairs.”  (PK)

  • You pick one of two audiences; the or

Galatians 5:17 (NASB) “For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please.”

  • The more you mature INTERNALLY the less you need EXTERNALLY.

Galatians 1:10 (NLT)Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.”

  • To serve the audience of One means you not only live for His applause but also His TIMELINE.

Matthew 6:1 (NASB)“Take care not to practice your righteousness in the sight of people, to be noticed by them; otherwise you have no reward with your Father who is in heaven.”

“When the drive for recognition starts to get the best of me

All I’ve got to do is look around at the people serving selflessly

And they don’t serve for glory, and they’re not keeping score

There’s a sign that’s written on their hearts

A sign I’ve seen before

I’ll be content to serve an audience of One

Only His approval counts when all is said and done

And this is my prayer, when the race is finally run

I want to hear “Well done”

From the audience of One”
