Building on the Foundation for the Bema

March 2, 2024 / Pastor John Tilton

  1. You Are What You , with the You Use.

“Because of God’s grace to me, I have laid the foundation like an expert builder. Now others are building on it. But whoever is building on this foundation must be very careful. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one we already have – Jesus Christ. Anyone who builds on that foundation may use a variety of materials – gold, silver, jewels, wood, hay, or straw. But on the judgment day, fire will reveal what kind of work each builder has done. The fire will show if a person’s work has any value.” (1 Cor. 3:10-13)

  1. The excellence of who we are and how we live our lives
  2. Our purpose in our lives

“Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?” (1 Cor. 3:16)

  1. You are God’s , He in You.
  2. We Will All Stand Before the Seat.

There will be a – Judgment of & of Righteousness.

“For the Son of Man is going to come in His Father’s glory with His angels, and then He will reward each person according to what they have done.” (Matt. 16:27)

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.”

(2 Cor. 5:10)

It will be a glorious time to:

1. To Honor Jesus

2. To Thank Jesus

3. To Hear of How You Served Jesus

4. To See & Hear the People Who Will Say “Thank you for sharing Jesus with me”

So, what do we do? What’s the Call-to-Action?

1. To know Jesus Christ as our Lord & Savior

2. To live our lives for Christ by Building on His Foundation

3. To serve Christ. In doing so, Store Up Our Treasures in Heaven

“I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 3:14)

“… knowing that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free.”

(Eph. 6:8)

“I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only, but also to all who have loved His appearing.” (2 Tim. 4:7-8)
