“RUNNING WITH ENDURANCE”

October 14, 2023

“…and so do Mark, Aristarchus, Demas and Luke, my fellow workers.” (Philem. 1:24 NIV)

“Our dear friend Luke, the doctor, and Demas send greetings…” (Col. 4:14 NIV)

“…for Demas, because he loved this world, has deserted me and has gone to Thessalonica…”

(2 Tim. 4:10 NIV)

Two Key Principles to Run with Endurance

“Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

(Heb. 12:1-2 NASB)

  1. Follow God even if the seems .

“So Joshua son of Nun called the priests and said to them, ‘Take up the ark of the covenant of the Lord and have seven priests carry trumpets in front of it. ’And he ordered the army, ‘Advance! March around the city, with an armed guard going ahead of the ark of the Lord.’” (Josh. 6:6-7 NIV)

  1. The outcome may not be so be in your waiting.

“The seventh time around, when the priests sounded the trumpet blast, Joshua commanded the army, ‘Shout! For the Lord has given you the city!’”

(Josh.6:16 NIV)

“When the trumpets sounded, the army shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the men gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so everyone charged straight in, and they took the city” (Josh. 6:20 NIV)
