The Gift of Giving

December 4, 2021 / Pastor Richard Waialeale

“God loves a cheerful giver.”

(2 Cor. 9:7)

  1. God’s to Us.

“Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.” (2 Cor. 9:6)

“‘Will a man rob God? Yet you rob Me.’ ‘But you ask, “How do we rob You?” In tithes and offerings. You are under a curse – the whole nation of you – because you are robbing Me.’” (Mal. 3:8-9)

“‘Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house. Test Me in this,’ says the LORD Almighty, ‘and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.’” (Mal. 3:10)

“‘I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not cast their fruit,’ says the LORD Almighty.” (Mal. 3:11)

“‘Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land,’ says the LORD Almighty.” (Mal. 3:12)

  1. God’s for Us.

“For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” (Matt. 6:21)

  1. God’s About Us.

“Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” (Luke 6:36–38)

  1. God’s in Us.

“Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.” (1 Tim. 6:17)

  1. God’s with Us.

“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich.” (2 Cor. 8:9)

“Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable gift.”

(2 Cor. 9:15)
