I’ve Got A Choice To Make
February 24, 2021New Hope Oahu’s Core Value #7:
We Believe that genuine love and caring relationships are key to the life of every endeavor.
Refusing to give audience to a spirit of complaining, we will instead be courageous in solving every problem in a way that honors God and builds biblical character. We value healthy relationships by protecting the unity of the Spirit in our church.

“I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our
Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in
what you say and that there be no divisions among you,
but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought. My
brothers and sisters, some from Chloe’s household have
informed me that there are quarrels among you. What I
mean is this: One of you says, ‘I follow Paul’; another, ‘I
follow Apollos’; another, ‘I follow Cephas’; still another, ‘I
follow Christ.’” (1 Cor. 1:10-12)
“It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality
among you, and of a kind that even pagans do not
tolerate: A man is sleeping with his father’s wife. And you
are proud! Shouldn’t you rather have gone into mourning
and have put out of your fellowship the man who has been
doing this? For my part, even though I am not physically
present, I am with you in spirit. As one who is present with
you in this way, I have already passed judgment in the
name of our Lord Jesus on the one who has been doing
this.” (1 Cor. 5:1-3)
1. Love chooses to abandon the flesh, and chases
after truth.
“Now about food sacrificed to idols: We know that ‘We
all possess knowledge.’ But knowledge puffs up while
love builds up. Those who think they know something
do not yet know as they ought to know. But whoever
loves God is known by God.”” (1 Cor. 8:1-3)
2. Love chooses to fortify people instead of our ego.
