The Good Shepherd | Psalm 23:4

Psalm 23:1-4 (1984)The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.2 He makes me lie down in green pastures he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he restores my soul.  He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. 4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”

The valley of the shadow of death is not a dead end.

In the valley, the Good Shepherd is present.

God doesn’t sleep so that you can.

The rod is a source of protection that leads to peace.

The staff is a source of correction that leads to comfort.

| Spirit of God |

Phillip Keller, A Shepherd Looks at Psalm 23 “As Christians we will sooner or later discover that it is in the valleys of our lives that we find refreshment from God himself.”

You are not alone.

You are not hopeless.

As you walk through the valley:

  • Stay near the Shepherd
    • Pray & memorize Psalm 23
  • Stay with the flock
    • Be with & for others

It’s OK to not be OK, but it’s not OK to stay that way.
