He Knows Me | Psalm 139:1-6

Main Idea: God knows everything about me.

Psalm 139:1 “You have searched me, Lord, and you know me.”

Omniscience “the state of having total knowledge, the quality of knowing everything.”

2 Samuel 11:27b “But the thing David had done displeased the Lord.”

2 Samuel 12:5 “David burned with anger against the man and said to Nathan, ‘As surely as the Lord lives, the man who did this must die! 6 He must pay for that lamb four times over, because he did such a thing and had no pity.’”

2 Samuel 12:7 “You are the man.”

God knows all of our actions.

Psalm 139:2-3 “You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. 3 You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.”God knows all of our thoughts.

Psalm 139:4 “Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely.”
God knows we need supervision.

Psalm 139:5 “You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me.”
God knows when we face a crisis.

Philippians 4:19 “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”God knows what we don’t know.

God knows when we need protection.

1 Corinthians 10:13“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”
God knows all about you and me, and yet He still loves us.

Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Psalm 139:6 “Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.”
