Bring Your Brick | 1 Corinthians 3:1-9a
1 Corinthians 3:9 “For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.”

Every Christ follower has a part to play to advance God’s plans.

1 Corinthians 3:1-2 “Brothers and sisters, I could not address you as people who live by the Spirit but as people who are still worldly—mere infants in Christ. 2 I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready.”

Matthew 4:4 “Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

Hebrews 5:11-14 “We have much to say about this, but it is hard to make it clear to you because you no longer try to understand. 12 In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! 13 Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. 14 But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.”

1 Corinthians 3:3 “You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere humans?”

Jealousy & Quarreling
1 Corinthians 3:4 “For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not mere human beings?Psalm 133:1“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!”
Ephesians 4:2
“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.”

Four Ways to Nurture Unity in Our Church?
1. Protect Unity

2. Pray for Unity

3. Practice Daily Bible Study

4. Pursue Unity

Romans 12:18 “If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.”
Unity is essential in order to accomplish God’s mission.

Ephesians 6:12 “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

1 Corinthians 3:5 “What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task.”

1 Corinthians 3:6 “I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.”

Without God nothing happens.
But with God all things are possible.
1 Corinthians 3:7-8 “So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. 8 The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor.”

1 Corinthians 3:9 “For we are co-workers in God’s service; you are God’s field, God’s building.” God is building here. He is working here and Paul says that “we are co-workers in God’s service.”
