Running Hills | Psalm 91:14-15

Hebrews 12:1b says “And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,”

Bottom Line: Keep Running.
3 Disciplines to Keep Running:

1. Expect there to be Hills.

John 16:33 “In this world you will have trouble,”

Hebrews 12:11 (ESV) “For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.”

James 1:2-4 “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

2. Expect the Unexpected.

Galatians 5:7 “You were running a good race. Who cut in on you to keep you from obeying the truth?”

3. Focus to Finish.

Psalm 91:14-15
(ISV) “Because he has focused his love on me, I will deliver him. I will protect him because he knows my name. 15 When he calls out to me, I will answer him. I will be with him in his distress. I will deliver him, and I will honor him.”

Psalm 91:14-15 “Because he has focused his love on me,”

A. “I will deliver him.”

Deuteronomy 11:25
“No one will be able to stand against you. The Lord your God will instill terror and fear of you throughout the entire land wherever you go, just as he promised you.”
B. “I will protect him because he knows my name.”
C. “When he calls out to me, I will answer him.”
D. “I will be with him in his distress.”

Deuteronomy 31:8 “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave younor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

Matthew 28:20 “And remember, I am with you each and every day until the end of the age.”
E. “I will deliver him,”
F. “and I will honor him.”

Proverbs 3:5a “Trust in the Lord with all your heart…”
