Run Your Best Race | Sermon #2 – When Possible, Run Together

August 14, 2022 / Monte Wilkinson

When Possible, Run Together | Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
You will run better when you run together.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: 10 If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.”

Genesis 2:18 “It is not good for the man to be alone.”

Ecclesiastes 4:10 “…pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.”
3 people we need to run with:

1. We all need a Paul.

2 Timothy 2:2 “And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.”
2. We all need a Timothy.

Philippians 2:3-4 “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.”
3. We all need a Barnabas.

1 Thessalonians 5:11a “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up,”

1 Corinthians 9:24-25
“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. 25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.”

Clayton Kraby “This race of faith was not designed to be run alone! Unlike a marathon, we aren’t in competition with those around us. We run together and are called to assist one another in the race.”

If you want to run the Christian race and go the distance, then run it with other believers.

1 Corinthians 12:27 “Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.”

Do you want to run your best race?
Prioritize being in a Biblical community.
