God is Great, God is Good

God is great, God is good. Let us thank Him for our food, by his hands we are fed, give us Lord our daily bread. Amen 

Psalm 7:17 “I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.” 

Daniel 4:35 “His dominion is an eternal dominion; his kingdom endures from generation to generation. All the peoples of the earth are regarded as nothing. He does as he pleases with the powers of heaven and the peoples of the earth. No one can hold back his hand or say to him: ‘What have you done?’” 

Job 38:1-7 “Then the Lord spoke to Job out of the storm. He said: 2 “Who is this that obscures my plans with words without knowledge? 3 Brace yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me. 4 “Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation? Tell me, if you understand. 5 Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know! Who stretched a measuring line across it? 6 On what were its footings set, or who laid its cornerstone— 7 while the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy?”

Acts 17:25 “He is not served by human hands, as though he needed anything.” 

Mark 10:18 “No one is good but God alone” 

God is close enough to see our pain and big enough to do something about it. 

And so our adoration begins with recognizing God is great. God is good. And then, Let Us Thank Him. 

Colossians 3:17 “Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

Colossians 4:2 “Devote yourselves to prayer,” Paul adds, “Being watchful in it with thanksgiving.” 

Psalm 77:11-12 “I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember your wonders of old. 12 I will ponder all your work, and meditate on your mighty deeds.” 

Are you thankful for God or are you just thankful for His stuff? 

Psalm 95:2-3 “Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. For the LORD is the great God, the great King above all gods.”

Isaiah 12:4 “Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done, and proclaim that his name is exalted.”

Psalm 100:4 “Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.”

Psalms 28:7 “The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.”

1 Chronicles 16:34 “Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.”
