True Identity | You Are Valuable: See Yourself the Way God Sees You

Ephesians 1:7-10

Lies: You are worthless. You are insignificant.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.”

Cost often reflects value.

Ephesians 1:7-8 “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace 8 that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding,”

Redemption means “you have been purchased by God.”

Ephesians 1:7b-8a “the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us”.

Galatians 5:1 “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free…”

Transformation

>Identifying the enemies lies

>Replacing lies with truth

You were redeemed with a purpose.

Ephesians 1:8b-10 “With all wisdom and understanding, 9 he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, 10 to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.”

Ephesians 1:10a“to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment”.

Reasons We Were Redeemed

1. God redeemed us because we were infinitely valued by Him.
2. God redeemed us to give us the privilege of being Jesus’s agents to bless our world.

Key Point: Knowing and believing that you are needed and valued will change your life.

Replace the Lies with the Truth.

Action Steps:
1. Write down the caricatures of how you see yourself.

2. Start reading the Gospels.

Romans 12:2a “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…”

3. Praise God for His grace.

God says you are valuable.
