Waymaker | Promise Keeper

Genesis 12:1-5 “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you. I will make you a great nation, and I will bless you. I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you and whoever curses you I will curse. And all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.”

God isn’t the Promise Kepter…God is the Promise Keeper

Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change His mind. Does He speak and not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?”

Promises mean nothing if you don’t follow through.

Joshua 3:14-17 “So when the people broke camp to cross the Jordan, the priests carrying the ark of the covenant went ahead of them. 15 Now the Jordan is at flood stage all during harvest. Yet as soon as the priests who carried the ark reached the Jordan and their feet touched the water’s edge, 16 the water from upstream stopped flowing. It piled up in a heap a great distance away, at a town called Adam in the vicinity of Zarethan, while the water flowing down to the Sea of the Arabah (that is, the Dead Sea) was completely cut off. So the people crossed over opposite Jericho. 17 The priests who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord stopped in the middle of the Jordan and stood on dry ground, while all Israel passed by until the whole nation had completed the crossing on dry ground.”

Joshua 4:1-4 “When the whole nation had finished crossing the Jordan, the Lord said to Joshua, 2 “Choose twelve men from among the people, one from each tribe, 3 and tell them to take up twelve stones from the middle of the Jordan, from right where the priests are standing, and carry them over with you and put them down at the place where you stay tonight.”

Joshua 4:6 “In the future, when your children ask you, ‘what do these stones mean?’ Tell them that the flow of the Jordan river was cut off before the ark of the Lord. These stones are to be a memorial to the people of Israel forever.”

In the remembering, we are reminded of the faithfulness of God.

Breathe In and Step Out

Because all that is included in the Bible, all of these promises, all of this history is here so that we can come to know the Father’s heart and trust that He is working for our good in all situations. Even when I can’t see, even when I don’t feel it, You’re working God. God is the Promise Keeper. He is with you here and now. Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow. You can trust Him.

2 Corinthians 1:20 “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the Glory of God.”

Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Deuteronomy 31:8 “The Lord  Himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid;  do not be discouraged.”

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, Declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Exodus 14:14 “The Lord will fight for you, you need only to be still.”
