What difference does Easter make to you today?

From that time Jesus began to show His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised up on the third day. (Matthew 16:21)

  1. When did Jesus become more than a name to you? What do you remember about that first Easter when you understood the significance for yourself?
  2. Read 27:62-66. What did the religious leaders fail to understand in making this request of Pilate? As you talk to others about Easter, what are their thoughts on what happened that day?
  3. Read 28:1-6. What words of hope does the angel give to the women? What words of hope can you share with others based on this passage?
  4. Read 28:17-20. What does Jesus call us to do today? What are some ways you are following His command?
