Your calling to witness involves blessings and bumps all along the way.
The Blessings
You gain respect
The Jews and God-fearing non-Jews followed Paul and Barnabas, who, speaking to them, were urging them to continue in the grace of God. Acts 13:42-43
You experience results
The next Sabbath nearly the whole city assembled to hear the Word of God. Acts 13:44
The Bumps
You endure ridicule
But when the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy, and began contradicting the things spoken by Paul, and were blaspheming. Acts 13:45
You confront unreceptivity
Paul said, “You judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we are turning to the non-Jew.” Acts 13:46-47
The Blessings
You exalt the Lord
And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord; and as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed. Acts 13:48
You expand the church
And the word of the Lord was being spread through the whole region. Acts 13:49
The Bumps
You anger the religious establishment
But the Jews aroused the devout women of prominence and the leading men of the city. Acts 13: 50a
You face unjust persecution
And instigated a persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and drove them out of their district. Acts 13: 50b
The Blessings
You are filled with purpose
But they shook off the dust of their feet in protest against them and went to Iconium. Acts 13:51
You are filled with the Spirit
And the disciples were continually filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit. Acts 13:52
