How To Handle Pain In Your New Year

January 2, 2022 / Pastor Dennis Beatty

You will have pain. How will you handle it?

Pain may be helpful, if that pain…

Moves you toward change

Sometimes it takes a painful experience to make us change our ways. Proverbs 20:30 (TEV)

Shows you a greater purpose

It is good for me that I was afflicted, that I may learn thy statutes. Psalm 119:71 (NASB)

Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons, for what son is not disciplined by his Father? Hebrews 12:7 (NIV)

Reveals what you are really like

Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction. Isaiah 48:10 (NASB)

Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. James 1:2-3 (NIV)

And you shall remember all the ways which the Lord your God has led you in the wilderness these forty years, that He might humble you, testing you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not. Deuteronomy 8:2 (NASB)

Puts you on a better path

And as for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to preserve many people alive. Genesis 50:20 (NASB)

Equips you for a better future

And let endurance have its perfect result, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. James 1:4 (NASB)
