When you pray, notice…
God wants a relationship
“And He (Jesus) said to them, ‘When you pray, say Father.’”
Luke 11:2a
God wants holiness
“Hallowed be Thy Name.”
Luke 11:2b
God wants you in His kingdom
“Thy kingdom come,”
Luke 11:2c
Nothing too small for God
“Give us each day our daily bread.”
Luke 11:3
No sin too big for God
“And forgive us our sins for we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us.”
Luke 11:4a
No temptation is from God
“And lead us not into temptation.”
Luke 11:4b
God doesn’t honor showy prayers
“And when you pray you are not to be as the hypocrites; for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and on the street corners, in order to be seen by men.”
Matthew 6:5
Spend time alone talking to God
“But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will repay you.”
Matthew 6:6
Make your prayers authentic
“And when you are praying, do not use meaningless repetition, as the Gentiles do, for they suppose that they will be heard for their many words. Therefore, do not be like them; for your Father knows what you need, before you ask Him.”
Matthew 6:7,8
