“Extraterrestrial Life and UFOs”

On the question of extraterrestrial life, (as with all questions), we must first think biblically.

While the Bible doesn’t explicitly say it, its theology strongly implies that intelligent physical life exists only on earth.

God the earth and the cosmos. (Gen. 1:1, 16; Col. 1; II Peter 3)

Scripture already accounts for of intelligent beings. (Col. 1:15-17)

Spiritual intelligent beings (angels)

Physical intelligent beings (humans)

The Earth is formed for life. (II Peter 3:5)

The entire universe will be on the basis of human sin.

(II Peter 3:6-13; Rom. 8:22; Isaiah 46:9-10)

God’s centers only on earth. (Rev. 4:10-11; 5:8-10)

Earth is central in the universe. (Rev. 21:1)

Some explanations for UFOs:

The most likely biblical explanation for “realistic” encounters: (II Cor. 11:14; II Thess. 2:9; James 4:7; Luke 10:17)

Why do people seek E.T.?

Consciously or unconsciously, the search for extraterrestrial life is largely out of a desire to replace . (Rom. 1:25)
