Message: “God’s Sovereignty in Prayer”

Genesis 18:16-33

When it comes to prayer, God is as glorified in the process as He is in the product. (James 2:23; Rom. 8:27)

The Process:

He taps into our . (vv. 16-19; II Peter 2:7-9)

God sometimes uses what we value to help us discover what He values.

He applies . (vv. 20-21)

Awareness of need sets up the blessing of dependence.

He changes our . (vv. 22-23a)

Effective intercession is a matter of drawing near to God.

He invites us to invoke . (vv. 23b-26)

Engagement with God is enhanced when we acknowledge His character.

He allows our . (vv. 27-32)

Prayer is our privilege to be more than spectators of God’s purpose.

He develops our of Christ. (v. 33; John 15:15; Rom. 8:29; Heb. 7:25)

The more time we spend with Him, the more we become like Him!
