“Adoration”

Psalm 62:6-7; Habakkuk 1-3

Adoration is worship.

BIBLICAL WORDS RELATED TO WORSHIP or PRAISE

Old Testament:

zakar (I Chron. 16:4)

Meaning:

halal (I Chron. 16:4; Ps. 34:2-3)

Meaning:

yadah (Ps. 9:1; II Chron. 20:21)

Meaning:

New Testament:

proskuneo (Matt. 2:1-2)

Meaning:

leitourgia (Acts 13:2; II Cor. 9:12; Rom. 15:27)

Meaning:

TWO ACTS OF WORSHIP (Rom. 12:1; Mark 7:6-8)

The act, which communicates His greatness.

The act, which demonstrates His greatness.

Physical worship:

Involves the body.

Gives praise upward while receiving instructions from above.

Spiritual worship:

Expresses the heart and mind.

Carries out God’s instructions in the world around us.

Adoration is a to the very of God.

Adoration is who God is, regardless of our present circumstances. (Hab. 1-3)
