The Blessed Life
Praying Jesus’ Way, Part 3
(Matthew 6:9-13)
Struggles that keep us from praying:
- It’s been too long since I prayed.
- I am struggling with sin in my life.
- I have been offended and hurt.
- I can’t see how my prayers matter.
- I am too busy.
- I’ve got this.
- I don’t have the faith to pray.
- I’m not sure what to say.
Praying Jesus’ Way:
- Praying for God to be glorified
-
Praying for God’s mission to be accomplished
- Praying for the world to experience peace
- Praying to have our needs met
- Praying to receive and give grace
- Praying for God’s guidance and protection
-
Praying holistically
- For God’s glory, others, and ourselves
- For God’s glory and human need
- Praying together
“Pray until you can pray; pray to be helped to pray, and do not give up praying because you cannot pray. For when you think you cannot pray, that is when you are praying.” – Charles Spurgeon
