Tarry An Hour
Big Idea: Tarrying in the Spirit turns our spiritual weakness into Kingdom power.
Matthew 26:40-41 ESV
40 And he came to the disciples and found them sleeping. And he said to Peter, “So, could you not watch with me one hour? 41 Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
- The Invitation, Not Condemnation
- The Spirit is Willing, the Flesh is Weak
- Praying in the Spirit is the Catalyst (Romans 8:26; 1 Cor. 14:15)
- Tarrying Transforms
Jesus is inviting you to tarry with him.
Tarry Prayer Plan:
- 15 Mins – Worship & Praise: Focus on who God is, not what you need (Ps. 100).
- 15 Mins – Scripture & Repentance: Read and pray through a chapter; let the Word search your heart.
- 15 Mins – Intercession: Pray for your family, church, nation, and the lost.
- 15 Mins – Spirit-Led Tarrying: Pray in the Holy Spirit, listen, and wait at the altar in silence.
