He is Risen! Easter Sunday is one of the most joyous days of the year for the believer in Jesus. It’s when we remember and celebrate the foundation of our faith – the resurrection of Jesus from the dead! While Jesus’ victory over death means so many things, John 20 illuminates one of the most important: Jesus’ resurrection signals the first day of New Creation. It is, as the early church understood, the “Eighth Day.” What does that mean, practically? Jesus’ conversation with Mary Magdalene explores that and invites us into a personal encounter with the resurrected Christ.
