The Priority And Power Of Prayer

January 29, 2023 / Jared Douglas

“Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalm 139:23-24

On a Consistent Basis We Need to Ask God to:

1. Search and Know My Heart.

“Search me, God, and know my heartPsalm 139:23

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” Proverbs 4:23

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?” Jeremiah 17:9

2. Reveal My Worries and Fears.

“test me and know my anxious thoughtsPsalm 139:23

What we worry about and fear the most; reveals where we trust God the least.

3. Show Me My Sins.

“See if there is any offensive way in me.” Psalm 139:24

We are really good at accusing other people of their sins, but we are quick to make excuses for our own sins…

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”          I John 1:9

4. Lead Me in the Way Everlasting.

“lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalm 139:24
