Living with Courage in a Culture of Compromise W7

March 6, 2022 / Jared Douglas

The consequences of compromise:

  • You Compromise Your Character.

“Let every part of you belong to the Lord Jesus Christ. Do not allow your weak thoughts to lead you into sinful actions.”
 Romans 13:14

  • You Compromise Your Opportunity to Make an Impact.

“Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the Lord. Joyful are those who obey His laws and search for Him with all their hearts. They do not compromise with evil, and they walk only in His paths.”   Psalm 119:1-3

  • You Compromise God’s Glory.

“Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to him, “King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”   Daniel 3: 16-18

Questions to consider in light of these truths:

  1. Am I basing my decisions in life on what everybody else around me does or am I basing my decisions on what the truth really is?
  2. Are there areas in my life right now where I am compromising what I know the truth to be and trying to justify why I do it?
