Indescribable Gift

“Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!”  II Corinthians 9:15

Jesus is the indescribable gift:

  1. Because of His Nature.

The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel which means “God with us.”   Matthew 1:23

  1. Because of His Purpose.

“She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”  Matthew 1:21

“Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”   Luke 2: 10-11

  1. Because of His Grace.

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us!”  Romans 5:8

“God made him (Jesus) who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him (Jesus) we might become the righteousness of God.”  II Corinthians 5:21

“But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.”   Ephesians 4: 4-9
