Every Spiritual Blessing Part 3

Ephesians 1:11-19 

We’ve covered eight spiritual blessings from chapter 1 so far. We’ll cover the last three today. We know that a relationship with Christ is life changing and eternity changing, but why? What are the specific things we gain by knowing Christ? 

1. God’s Promised
2. God’s Wonderful  
3. God’s Magnificent

The seal of the Holy Spirit guarantees: 

-Security. Once you are sealed, you cannot be unsealed. 

-Authenticity. When the Holy Spirit seals you, it is as if God is saying about you: this person belongs to me and is a citizen of my kingdom. 

-Ownership. From the moment of salvation, you fully and eternally belong to God. The transaction of salvation is official and final. 

-Authority. When you are sealed with the Holy Spirit, you are called to serve the church, the kingdom of God, and to proclaim and defend the gospel under the authority of God himself! 

-Identity. I am a child of the king. If you are in Christ, you are a child of the king. Don’t forget your identity in the midst of the struggle. We wrap ourselves up in all sorts of identities. I am struggling. I am depressed. I am anxious. I am an addict. I am divorced. I am this and I am that. 

4. Paul’s Hope Filled

What does he pray for? 

-The Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. 

-That the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so that you may know the hope of his calling, the wealth of the glorious inheritance and the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe.
