Step 1: Conviction
Three Descriptive Words:
• Transgression: rebellion (v. 1)
• Sin: miss the mark (v. 1)
• Iniquity: twisted, crooked (v. 2)

Step 2: Confession
Learn in confession to be honest with God. Do not give fair names to foul sins; call them what you will, they will smell no sweeter. —Charles Spurgeon
To confess sin means to:

He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy. (Proverbs 28:13)
