Your kingdom come . . .

Living Out the Lord’s Prayer
Matthew 6:9-13
Your kingdom come . . .

The Main Thing to Know:
I’m part of the kingdom if God is the King

The Kingdom of God:

Definition: rule & reign of God

1. Inclusive yet exclusive

The Christian religion is at once the broadest and the narrowest in the world. It is a faith that admits every possible kind of person. But it admits them in only one way.
—Tim Challies

2. Invisible yet visible

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. (Matthew 6:33)

3. Present yet still to come

How do we faithfully live as part of God’s kingdom?

• Live Obediently
To pray “thy kingdom come” is searching and demanding, for one must be ready to add, “and start with me; make me your fully obedient subject.”
—J.I. Packer, Growing in Christ

• Live Outwardly

• Live Expectantly

Then the seventh angel sounded: And there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ, and He shall reign forever and ever!” (Revelation 11:15)
