Serious salvation

The Lamb That Was Slain

“… Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” John 1:29

Denial

What assurance does God give guilt ridden people?

“let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.” Hebrews 10:22, NIV

“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” 2 Corinthians 5:21

“… For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,” Revelation 5:9

“¹⁸ knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, … ¹⁹ but with the blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.” 1 Peter 1:18-19

Three facts on guilt

“²³ for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, ²⁴ being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,” Romans 3:23-24

The contrast is absolute:

• are responsible for verse 23 (the first line),

• is responsible for verse 24 (the second line)!

Five steps to eternal life

Here are five simple steps you can take to receive this gift of eternal life:

1. the fact that God loves you and wants to save you (Jeremiah 31:3).

2. that you cannot save yourself (Romans 3:23-24).

3. that Jesus can and will save you. (John 3:16).

4. your sins to Jesus and believe you are forgiven (1 John 1:9).

5. His gift of eternal life and decide to serve Him forever (1 John 5:11-12).
