Luke 2:10 (NLT)

10 but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you  good news that will bring great joy to all people.

Jesus makes Christmas:

  1.
  2.
  3. For

FOUR REASONS WE CELEBRATE…

1. We celebrate God’s love us.

John 3:16 (NLT)

16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.

1  Timothy 6:17 (NLT)

17 Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment.

James 1:18 (NLT)

18 He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession.

2. We celebrate God is us.

Matthew 1:23 (NLT)

23 “Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us.’ ”

Isaiah 43:2–3 (NLT)

2 When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.

3 For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I gave Egypt as a ransom for your freedom; I gave Ethiopia and Seba in your place.

3. We celebrate God is us.

“God is looking for people through whom He can do the impossible. What a pity that we plan only the things we can do by ourselves.” -A.W. Tozer

Romans 8:31 (NLT)

31 What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?

Matthew 26:26 (NLT)

26 As they were eating, Jesus took some bread and blessed it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “Take this and eat it, for this is my body.”

Matthew 26:27-28 (NLT)

27 And he took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. He gave it to them and said, “Each of you drink from it,

28 for this is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many.

4. We celebrate Jesus’ .

7 Feasts in the Old Testament (Celebrations)

  1. The Passover (Lev 23:4-8)
  2. Unleavened Bread (Lev. 23:6)
  3. First Fruits (Lev 23:10)
  4. Feast of Weeks or Pentecost (Lev 23:16)
  5. Feast of Trumpets (23:24)
  6. Day of Atonement (23:26-32)
  7. Feast of Booths (23:34)

Psalm 113:1–8 (NLT)

1 Praise the Lord! Yes, give praise, O servants of the Lord. Praise the name of the Lord!

2 Blessed be the name of the Lord now and forever.

3 Everywhere—from east to west— praise the name of the Lord.

4 For the Lord is high above the nations; his glory is higher than the heavens.

5 Who can be compared with the Lord our God, who is enthroned on high?

6 He stoops to look down on heaven and on earth.

7 He lifts the poor from the dust and the needy from the garbage dump.

8 He sets them among princes, even the princes of his own people!

1. What from this past year are you praising God for?

2. Since it’s Jesus’ birthday, what will you give Him this year?
