January 30, 2022

HOW TO CONTROL WORRY

Matthew 8:23-27

You May Be A Worrier If

You tend to dwell on problems

You are easily upset by small annoyances

You are naturally critical

You have physical symptoms

You constantly rehash past events

You feel insecure about the future You feel burned out

You find lose ends hard to handle

You are defensive and confrontational

You have a problem when you don’t get your way

The Causes Of Worry

Matthew 8:23 Then Jesus got into the boat and started across the lake with his disciples.

24 Suddenly, a fierce storm struck the lake, with waves breaking into the boat. But Jesus was sleeping.

The Storm: Unexpected

The Waves: Overwhelming

The Boat: Inadequate

Jesus: Insufficient

The Cure For Worry

Matthew 8:25 The disciples went and woke him up, shouting, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”

26 Jesus responded, “Why are you afraid? You have so little faith!” Then he got up and rebuked the wind and waves, and suddenly there was a great calm.

27 The disciples were amazed. “Who is this man?” they asked. “Even the winds and waves obey him!”

Respond Like A  Of Jesus

Philippians 4:6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

Question Your

John 14:27 “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. Fear – I look at something in the future that I am afraid might happen

Matthew 6:34 “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

Increase Your

Matthew 6:30 And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? Faith – I look at the future and trust the God who is with me

Luke 8:14 The seeds that fell among the thorns represent those who hear the message, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the cares and riches and pleasures of this life. And so they never grow into maturity.

Acknowledge God’s

Psalm 89:8 O Lord God of Heaven’s Armies! Where is there anyone as mighty as you, O Lord? You are entirely faithful.

1 Chronicles 29:11 Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is yours, O Lord, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as the one who is over all things.

Matthew 6:26 Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?

27 Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?

Matthew 6:33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

1 Peter 5:7 Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.
