Romans: A Gospel Explained

 

21 Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good. (Romans 12:21)

1 Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God. (Romans 13:1)

 

Our Responsibilities to Governance:

 

1. to governing authorities.

5 So you must submit to them, not only to avoid punishment, but also to keep a clear conscience. 6 Pay your taxes, too, for these same reasons. For government workers need to be paid. They are serving God in what they do.  (Romans 13:5-6)

29 But Peter and the apostles replied, “We must obey God rather than any human authority.  (Acts 5:29)

7 Give to everyone what you owe them: Pay your taxes and government fees to those who collect them, and give respect and honor to those who are in authority. (Romans 13:7)

1 Accept other believers who are weak in faith, and don’t argue with them about what they think is right or wrong. 2 For instance, one person believes it’s all right to eat anything. But another believer with a sensitive conscience will eat only vegetables.  (Romans 14:1-2)

WOMEN’S CONFERENCE

All women are invited to the Anchored in Hope women’s conference on Saturday, November 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Crossroads South campus. Price is $20. Lunch provided by Good Dudes’ BBQ. Gluten-free options included. Anna Walker will give the keynote address. Attenders can pick one of three breakout sessions about finding hope in anxiety, finding hope in the family, and finding hope in disappointment. Sign up by October 26.

PARENTS NIGHT OUT

Parents, treat yourself to a night out! Preserve Marriage Ministries and Crossroads Learning Corner are partnering to honor parents. We want you to date your spouse and/or enjoy a kid-free evening on Saturday, November 2, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Crossroads South. Ages for kids are 2 to 12 years old. Kids will enjoy a fun night with pizza, games, bounce houses, crafts and more. Cost is $10 per child or $25 for a family of 3 or more. Children must be pregregistered for this event to attend. VOLUNTEER

We need your help on Parents Night Out. We have spots to help with set-up, registration, kitchen, childcare, and clean-up. If you would like to volunteer to help out on Parents Night Out, sign up here.

OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

You’ve seen the Operation Christmas Child boxes around the church. So you know that means it’s that time of year to put together a box of goodies. This is a great outreach opportunity for all ages in the church to participate in generosity. Drop off your boxes at Crossroads by November 3rd.
